What are the power requirements for a SureFire system?
For the Flare-100, BMS-300, 300H, and BMS-350H:

  • Battery Voltage: 11-15 volts DC

  • Solar Panel Voltage: 12 volts DC

  • Solar Panel Current: 8 amps max

How does a SureFire system react when power is lost?
If the SureFire system has a battery backup, it will continue to operate. If line power is used without a backup, the system will shut down.

System Functionality & Features

Can the SureFire BMS have dual temperature process control (gas and liquid) capabilities?
Yes, the SureFire BMS can be configured for dual temperature control for both gas and liquid processes. Please contact SureFire for further evaluation and customization.

Can the SureFire BMS detect loss of flame?
Yes, the SureFire BMS is capable of detecting the loss of flame, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

How does your flame detection function?
The SureFire BMS detects flame through three devices:

  • Igniter

  • Flame Rod

  • Thermocouple

Compliance & Approvals

Is SureFire approved for hazardous areas?

Does the SureFire BMS have an extreme high-temperature shutdown, and is it adjustable?
Yes, the SureFire BMS includes an extreme high-temperature shutdown feature. It is set at 50°F above the high-temperature set point but is not adjustable.

Data Logging & Monitoring

Does the system log operational data continuously? Can it be retrieved and used?
The BMS-300 and BMS-350 systems log ignition attempts, successful ignitions, and burner operation times. Data logging technology is in development and will soon be available. Please contact our sales staff for more information and a release date.

Customization & Control

Can I customize the operating parameters?
Yes, we can accommodate most customized operating parameters based on your specific operational needs. Please contact SureFire to discuss further.

Can the SureFire system be controlled by any other device?
Yes, the SureFire system can be integrated with other control systems, depending on your specific setup and needs. Please contact SureFire for more information.

What is the difference between your BMS (Burner Management System) and a pilot maintainer?
A BMS manages process target temperatures and controls both the pilot and main burner valves, while a pilot maintainer only manages the pilot valve.
